At noon today my alarm went off                           

My appointment with God

I have made appointments before

At sunrise

           at noon

                     at bedtime

                                at 4 AM

And always they fell by the way.

God made this apointment with me today,

                      at noon

          Gently He asked, "Be there."

I met Him in His office

                         my heart

He greeted me warmly like a long journeyed son

                   which I am

He cried with joy

             I cried with trembling

                       awesome

                                  fearful respect

We talked for hours

                   without words

He asked

                 I said, "YES!" with great enthusiasm.

Today I had an appointment with God.
